Heading 4

To design is to sketch, cast, and forge an alternative future—a weighty responsibility.

I'm a trans-disciplinary designer and researcher, with experience in strategic visual communication and systems thinking.

I combine rigorous user research methods with diverse design approaches to navigate complex spaces, generate original insights, and prototype for impact.

To design is to bridge the gap between what is and what should be—both a weighty responsibility, and an exciting endeavor.

My design superpower is language.

I use spoken and written language to connect with stakeholders, reframe problems, shape perceptions, and motivate action. Language is both the lens and means through which I navigate complexity and effect change.

"Isaac blended seamlessly into my interdisciplinary team a couple of years into a project for a coalition of Native Hawaiian educators and cultural leaders. His deep understanding and sensitivity to the cultural complexity of the project, the political atmosphere within the university, and the social context, were evident in his work. His strategic approach to graphically communicating values-based information was truly commendable and moved the project forward."

"I had the pleasure of working alongside Isaac while pursuing our Masters in Design. We collaborated closely on a challenging communication design project for our client, The Space Elevator Company. Throughout the project, he regularly demonstrated a deep understanding and application of the core values of the design process, embracing iterative development and incorporating any feedback to improve our deliverables. He was also a reliable and supportive partner, always willing to lend a hand and offer constructive feedback. His collaborative spirit and positive attitude made him an absolute pleasure to work with, and I am confident that he would be a valuable asset to any team."
